About the Role

Support a leading global insurer's finance function with primary focus on reinsurance accounting, financial reporting, and technical accounting. This role combines hands-on close work with exposure to more complex accounting challenges, contributing to project work and system enhancements. Ideal for an accountant with an insurance audit background (qualified or working towards qualification) looking to deepen technical expertise in reinsurance and develop broader finance skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of accurate financial reporting for internal and external purposes following GAAP and other relevant regulatory standards
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes including financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations
  • Support preparation of technical accounting memos and more complex accounting analyses
  • Prepare and review detailed analysis and monthly / quarterly reconciliations
  • Work with relevant partners to ensure accuracy of transactions and financial disclosure
  • Contribute to enhancement and development of financial systems to meet evolving Finance requirements
  • Communicate with internal and external auditors
  • Contribute to project work and strategic initiatives across Finance Department

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) or working towards
  • 2-5 years relevant prior experience, i.e. insurance audit experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills with ability to apply them to reinsurance complexities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritise workload effectively
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communicator able to work across Finance teams and external auditors
