Venn Group's specialist Public Sector Legal team is currently recruiting for a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a well-regarded Local Government legal team on an interim basis, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a busy and established Local Authority.
Role Details:
- Position: Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer
- Working Arrangement: Full Time, Remote working
- Duration: Initial 3+ months with the possibility for extension
- Rate: Up to £65 per hour umbrella
Duties may include:
- Managing a full caseload of Commercial Contracts matters on behalf of the Local Authority
- Advising on Procurement matters and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of commercial agreements and contracts
- Providing legal support on potential waste contracts and associated matters
- Advising officers and stakeholders on complex commercial and contractual issues
- Supporting the wider legal team with general commercial law matters as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive (or equivalent) with experience of Commercial Law
- Experience working within Local Government or the Public Sector is desirable
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and teams
