Leigh | Full Time | Office Based | Salary Dependent on Experience

A respected regional law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Property Legal Secretary to join its busy Residential Conveyancing team in Leigh.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive and collaborative team, providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor and Partner while playing a key role in ensuring residential property transactions progress smoothly from instruction through to completion.

The Role

  • As a Residential Property Legal Secretary, your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing comprehensive secretarial support to the Residential Conveyancing team.
  • Managing incoming telephone calls, taking messages and assisting clients and estate agents with transaction updates where appropriate.
  • Booking client appointments and preparing detailed attendance notes.
  • Opening new client files and producing client care documentation.
  • Preparing residential conveyancing quotations.
  • Working confidently within a legal case management system.
  • Ordering property searches and obtaining HM Land Registry documentation.
  • Preparing SDLT returns, Land Registry applications and other conveyancing documentation.
  • Updating lender portals including LMS and Lender Exchange.
  • Producing exchange and completion correspondence.
  • Preparing completion statements, bills and financial documentation.
  • Carrying out Land Registry pre-completion searches.
  • Sending client ID requests and onboarding documentation.
  • Checking returned paperwork and following up on outstanding documents.
  • Audio typing and digital dictation when required.
  • Closing completed files and checking ledgers.
  • Maintaining accurate file management and ensuring compliance with CQS procedures and firm policies.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Previous experience working as a Residential Property Legal Secretary, Conveyancing Legal Secretary or Property Legal Secretary.
  • Strong knowledge of the residential conveyancing process.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Audio typing and document production experience.
  • Confidence using legal case management systems.
  • Outstanding communication and client care skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • A proactive, professional and flexible approach to your work.
