A Leicester based law firm with a traditional "full service/high street" heritage is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join their head-office team. The firm advises a broad mix of private individuals and business owners, including higher-net-worth families, delivering a range of non-contentious legal services with an emphasis on client care and long-term relationships.

The Private Client function is spread across the office network with a core of qualified Solicitors working from the firm's head office that provide private client support to a client base of mid-value wealth. The hire is intended to provide experienced oversight/supervision for the head-office team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will take on a mixed private client caseload reflecting the firm's varied client base (from general private clients through to well-off families and business owners). A key element of the position is providing senior support and supervision to developing fee earners within the team, helping drive quality, consistency and performance as the department transitions away from long-term locum cover.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a mixed private client caseload (reflecting both general private client matters and more complex work for higher-asset individuals/families and business owners)
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and mentoring to junior fee earners
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality advice in line with firm standards
  • Contribute to billing performance in line with agreed targets/bonus scheme

Salary and benefits

  • Competitive salary based on the successful applicant's fee generation track record
  • Bonus scheme that ratchets as you reach billing thresholds and pays a percentage of over-target fee generation
  • Hybrid working/flexible working offered (eg, 2–3 days office-based for some roles)
  • Compressed hours options available (eg, full-time hours over four days)

About You

  • Experienced Private Client Solicitor (ideally someone with in excess of 10 years' PQE or equivalent capability)
  • Able to handle complex/private wealth-style matters alongside general private client work
  • Proven ability (or clear readiness) to supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers
  • Commercially minded with strong billing performance and interest in being incentivised via bonus structure
  • Credible track record as a qualified fee earner (with PQE/experience clearly evidenced)
  • Comfortable working flexibly/hybrid while maintaining strong service levels
