An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a highly respected independent planning consultancy with a strong reputation across the UK property sector. Based in Leeds, the successful candidate will play a key role in managing projects, advising clients, and supporting the continued growth of the planning team.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading and delivering a variety of planning projects from inception through to completion, providing strategic planning advice to an established client base while working closely with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a broad portfolio of planning applications and appeals
- Preparing planning appraisals, statements, and supporting documentation
- Advising clients on planning strategy and development opportunities
- Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
- Supporting junior team members and contributing to business development activities
- Attending client meetings, committee meetings, and public consultations where required
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
- Experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commercial awareness and client-facing experience
- The ability to manage projects independently and work collaboratively within a team
