One of the UK's leading Personal Injury specialists are seeking a skilled and motivated Complex Personal Injury Paralegal to join a busy and dynamic team handling a varied caseload of litigated and non-litigated personal injury matters, with a strong focus on Road Traffic Accident (RTA) claims.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid portal and fast track experience who is looking to further develop their expertise in more complex and technical cases within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload of personal injury claims, including both litigated and non-litigated matters.

The focus will be on complex RTA cases that have exited the portal, typically fast track or lower-value multi-track claims.

These cases often involve

  • Overlapping injuries
  • Significant pre-existing conditions
  • Stayed proceedings requiring procedural applications
  • Challenging client circumstances

You will be responsible for progressing claims efficiently from portal through to fast track and/or multi-track stages, with a strong emphasis on maximising damages and recoverable costs while delivering excellent client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular and proactive communication with both lay and insurer clients throughout the lifecycle of each claim
  • Build strong relationships through calls and meetings to ensure consistent service delivery
  • Verify the authenticity and validity of claims, particularly on complex or sensitive files
  • Develop rapport with clients to minimise complaints and enhance overall experience
  • Keep insurers fully updated on claim progress to mitigate exposure and maximise savings
  • Ensure all heads of claim are identified early and revisited throughout the claim
  • Collect and review all relevant documentation at the earliest opportunity
  • Obtain medical evidence and progress claims within appropriate timeframes
  • Handle liability and quantum negotiations, prioritising telephone discussions where appropriate
  • Advise clients on contributory negligence issues
  • Effectively prioritise and manage incoming correspondence, responding to urgent matters promptly
  • Progress claims out of the portal into Fast Track and/or Multi-Track
  • Deliver excellent client service and achieve strong settlement outcomes
  • Support junior team members with procedural and client-related queries
  • Work with senior colleagues on more complex or contentious files to build expertise

About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have

  • Experience working within a personal injury environment (paralegal, fee earner, or equivalent)
  • Strong experience handling portal claims, including cases that have been stayed and require applications to lift or extend the stay
  • Exposure to fast track and/or multi-track personal injury claims
  • Experience dealing with complex or technical cases
  • A solid understanding of the CPR and relevant personal injury processes
  • About the Firm

  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working model with flexibility
  • 2 volunteering days to support charitable initiatives
  • Matched charity fundraising contributions
  • Healthcare cash plan (including dental, physio and optical)
  • Access to wellbeing tools, fitness resources and virtual health services
  • Retail, travel and lifestyle discounts
  • Life assurance (4x salary)
