An excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Finance Manager to join a large, fast-paced organisation and take ownership of the financial performance across a significant international operation.
This is a broad business partnering role with exposure to senior stakeholders, responsibility for forecasting and budgeting, and the opportunity to influence both commercial and operational decision-making.
The Role
You will partner closely with senior stakeholders across the international and fulfilment functions, providing financial insight, challenging performance and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and cash generation.
Key responsibilities will include
- Produce weekly and monthly rolling forecasts covering volume, revenue, expenditure and contribution.
- Lead budgeting and reforecasting for your areas of responsibility.
- Provide detailed performance reporting, variance analysis and commentary.
- Partner with senior stakeholders on business plans, budgets and strategic decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve volumes, reduce costs and improve financial performance.
- Challenge assumptions and ensure plans are robust, efficient and commercially sound.
- Monitor outstanding debt and support initiatives to improve cash collection.
- Ensure agreed financial actions are delivered within appropriate timescales.
- Drive compliance around spend approval and financial controls.
- Work with commercial teams to assess the financial rationale behind winning and retaining business.
- Develop and improve MI, KPI and flash reporting.
- Improve data quality and ensure appropriate system governance.
- Present financial performance and insights to a broad stakeholder group, including senior leadership.
- Help improve the financial awareness and commercial understanding of operational management teams.
- Manage and develop a small finance team.
About You
We're looking for a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with the business and can combine strong financial analysis with commercial influence.
You should have
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience in commercial finance and business partnering.
- Experience operating at a senior stakeholder or functional level.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, complex or growing organisation.
- A proactive approach to improving the financial performance of a sizeable business area.
- Strong forecasting, budgeting and performance management experience.
- Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and provide an independent perspective.
- The ability to translate financial information into clear commercial stories and actionable recommendations.
- A collaborative approach to problem solving and team development.
Experience within logistics, supply chain, retail, transport or another operationally complex environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
