We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial insurance business based in Leatherhead.
You will work alongside experienced brokers, servicing new and existing commercial clients, including major scheme-based clients within the removals and storage sector.

The role
As Commercial Insurance Account Handler, you will manage the day-to-day servicing of a varied portfolio of commercial insurance clients, ensuring they receive a responsive, accurate and professional service.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing commercial insurance renewals and mid-term adjustments
- Reviewing risk and claims information and obtaining any additional information required from clients
- Securing competitive quotations from insurers
- Presenting renewal terms promptly and following up with clients for instructions
- Supporting strong client retention and profitable account growth
- Processing policy adjustments through insurer extranets
- Ensuring insurance cover is placed within the required timescales
- Building effective, long-term relationships with clients
- Understanding clients' requirements and recommending appropriate insurance solutions
- Working closely with underwriters to adapt policies and secure suitable cover
- Responding promptly and professionally to client enquiries
- Preparing invoices and resolving billing queries
- Maintaining accurate client files, correspondence and policy documentation
- Working collaboratively with brokers and the wider team
About you
We would be interested in hearing from candidates who have
- At least one to two years' commercial insurance experience
- Experience within commercial vehicle, motor fleet, public liability or employers' liability insurance
- A sound understanding of general insurance principles
- Commercial insurance experience rather than solely personal lines experience
- A confident and professional telephone manner
- The ability to communicate effectively with clients, insurers and colleagues
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A flexible and team-focused approach
- Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, including English and maths
Progress towards CII qualifications would be advantageous, although full support for further CII study is available.
