We're recruiting for a growing and well-established manufacturing business seeking a Senior Product Design Engineer to join their team in Kidderminster.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative products, creating production-ready designs using Solid Works, and ensuring products meet relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products from concept through to manufacture.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation using Solid Works and other CAD/CAM packages.
  • Improve and optimise existing products to enhance quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Support research and development activities and contribute to future product innovation.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, including BSEN standards and CE marking requirements.
  • Generate manufacturing programmes and support the transition from design to production.
  • Collaborate with estimating, surveying, production, and operations teams to deliver projects successfully.
  • Support continuous improvement across design and manufacturing processes.

About You

  • Previous experience in a Product Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, or similar position.
  • Proficient in Solid Works and the creation of manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing environments and production processes.
  • Experience working with sheet metal, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards and product compliance requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working closely with production and cross-functional teams.
