Role:
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our client.
Working closely with senior leadership and the wider finance team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, insightful analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and driving continuous improvements across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, journals, and month-end reconciliations.
- Produce monthly management accounts with detailed commentary and analysis.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning processes.
- Monitor financial and operational performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
- Oversee the purchase-to-pay process, ensuring robust controls and governance.
- Provide costing analysis and commercial insights to support decision-making.
- Act as a key contact for external auditors and support year-end processes.
- Lead and develop a small transactional finance team.
Desirable Skills
- Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- Previous management accounting experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Strong systems experience, ideally including ERP and purchase-to-pay platforms.
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to strict deadlines.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring junior finance staff.
