Accounts Senior in Kendal

An established and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit an Accounts Senior to join its expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to take the next step in their career, working with a broad portfolio of clients while developing their technical and advisory skills.

The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality accounting services, supporting clients across a range of industries and working closely with managers and partners to provide an outstanding client experience.

The Role

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Produce management accounts, bookkeeping records and VAT returns for a varied client portfolio.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and support wider compliance requirements.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, responding to queries and providing professional support.
• Review financial information, identify issues and liaise with senior team members where required.
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain high standards of technical compliance and quality across all work.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent client service.
• Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards and relevant legislation.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential.
• Strong experience preparing accounts for a varied client portfolio.
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to build lasting client relationships.
• A proactive and solutions-focused approach to your work.
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
• A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
