Reporting directly to an experienced and supportive Head of Finance, you'll play a pivotal role in financial reporting, audit management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The Opportunity As Financial Accountant, you'll take ownership of key financial reporting processes while acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders across the organisation.

You'll lead on year-end activities, support strategic projects, oversee balance sheet controls, and contribute to business planning and decision-making.

The position also offers exposure to senior leadership and the chance to deputise for the Head of Finance when required, making it an ideal move for an ambitious finance professional looking to accelerate their career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the external audit process and statutory reporting activities.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory and compliance returns.
  • Manage and review key balance sheet reconciliations and controls.
  • Support treasury management activities and cashflow reporting.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Review and improve financial processes, controls, and systems.
  • Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support business growth initiatives, tenders, and project work.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the finance team.
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Finance when required.

About You We're looking for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys working collaboratively and driving improvements.

You'll ideally have

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong financial accounting and statutory reporting experience.
  • Previous responsibility for audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong systems knowledge.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach and desire to identify and implement improvements.
