Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the group's UK corporate tax compliance, ensuring all returns and submissions are completed accurately and on time.
- Lead on VAT reporting and provide practical advice on VAT matters across the business.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and support initiatives that drive efficiencies and minimise risk.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HMRC and external tax advisors, acting as the key point of contact.
- Partner with the wider finance team, providing guidance and insight on tax-related issues.
- Support year-end audits and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant tax legislation.
- Play a key role in business projects, acquisitions and organisational changes, providing tax expertise throughout.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the potential impact on the organisation.
Key Skills
- Qualified accountant or tax professional (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent).
- Strong corporate tax and VAT experience, ideally gained within manufacturing, engineering or another complex commercial environment.
- Enjoy a hands-on approach and are comfortable working through technical detail when required.
- Able to build credibility with stakeholders across all levels of the business, translating complex tax matters into practical commercial advice.
