Butler Rose Public Practice is pleased to be supporting a friendly independent accountancy practice in High Wycombe in their search for an Accounts Manager to join their team and hit the ground running.
This role would suit an ACCA qualified professional who enjoys having autonomy on their role.
You will take ownership of a significant client portfolio and play a key role in the strategic and operational delivery of services across accounts, tax and advisory.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, ambitious individual who enjoys managing client relationships, leading teams and being part of a supportive environment which values work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a client portfolio
- Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under FRS 102/105
- Overseeing and reviewing corporation tax, personal tax and VAT returns
- Providing advisory support including tax planning and business consultancy
- Provide assistance with bookkeeping or manage bookkeeping for client portfolio
- Line managing and mentoring junior and mid-level staff
- Supporting partners with department development and workflow management
- Attending client meetings and building long-term relationships
- Key Requirements
- ACCA Qualified or QBE
- Minimum 5 years' UK accountancy practice experience (Essential)
- Experience managing client portfolios
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts, tax and bookkeeping
- Experience using systems such as CCH, Xero, Sage or similar
- Proven ability to manage and develop teams
- A proactive and relationship-focused approach
- Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
- Enjoys problem-solving and supporting client needs
