Group Financial Controller - Fixed Term Contract (6 Months)

Location: Hayes

Working Pattern: 4 days per week on-site

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 + retention bonus + pension

Robert Half is working with a leading international business to recruit an experienced Group Financial Controller on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a key role within the finance function, requiring a highly experienced financial controller with strong multi-entity, international exposure, excellent technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex group environment.

The Role

As Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the Group's financial control environment, ensuring robust governance, accurate reporting, and strong financial discipline across multiple entities and jurisdictions. You will work closely with senior finance leadership and wider stakeholders, providing both hands-on leadership and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and overseeing the Group financial control function across multiple entities.
  • Managing and strengthening financial controls, governance, and reporting processes.
  • Delivering accurate and timely month-end and management accounts.
  • Preparing management accounts in US GAAP.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP / FRS 102 and relevant group reporting standards.
  • Supporting statutory accounts preparation, audit processes, and tax return filings.
  • Reviewing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
  • Identifying control weaknesses and implementing effective remediation plans.
  • Working within a multi-national, multi-entity structure with complex reporting requirements.
  • Providing technical accounting support across the wider finance team.
  • Supporting senior leadership with ad-hoc analysis, projects, and strategic initiatives.

About You

The successful candidate will be a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with significant experience operating at Group Financial Controller level or within a similar senior financial control role. You will ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification - essential
  • Strong experience in financial controls, governance, and group reporting
  • Proven experience in a multi-national, multi-entity environment
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102
  • Experience producing US GAAP management accounts
  • Exposure to ASC 842 (US leasing) and ideally IFRS 15 & IFRS 16
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Experience overseeing statutory accounts, audit processes, and tax return filings
  • Strong leadership and people management experience
  • Ability to operate effectively in both strategic and hands-on capacities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to start quickly and make an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment
