Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Experienced Wood CNC Programmer on behalf of our client based in Haverhill on a permanent basis.

The role would suit an experienced CNC Programmer who is confident working independently, creating and optimising CNC programs, resolving machining issues and ensuring CNC machinery is operating efficiently and accurately.

  • Roles & Responsibilities
  • Program, set and operate CNC machinery within a busy woodworking manufacturing environment.
  • Create, modify and optimise CNC programs to meet production requirements.
  • Work with 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis and nesting CNC machinery.
  • Produce components accurately from technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Set tooling, offsets, workholding and machine parameters.
  • Select appropriate tooling and establish suitable feeds and speeds for different materials and applications.
  • Optimise programs to improve cycle times, material utilisation and overall production efficiency.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and make program adjustments where required.
  • Identify and resolve CNC programming, tooling and machining issues.
  • Carry out routine machine checks and assist with preventative maintenance.
  • Work closely with the Design and Production teams to ensure programmes are suitable for manufacture.
  • Support the introduction of new products and machining processes.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality and housekeeping within the CNC department.
  • Follow all Health & Safety and quality procedures at all times.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience programming CNC machinery within a woodworking environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with CNC programming, setting and operating.
  • Experience working with nesting CNC machinery and/or multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Good understanding of woodworking materials, tooling and machining processes.
  • Strong knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds and machining optimisation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Confident troubleshooting CNC machinery, tooling and programming issues.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of CNC programming requirements.
  • Previous experience within furniture, joinery, cabinet making or specialist woodworking manufacturing is highly desirable.

Desirable

  • Experience programming 5-axis CNC machinery.
  • Experience using Solid Works.
  • Experience using FORMAT4 or similar woodworking CAD/CAM software.
  • Experience with CNC nesting software.
  • Experience working with machines such as Homag, Weeke, Biesse or SCM.
  • Experience producing bespoke furniture, cabinetry, joinery or specialist manufactured components.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • £17.50 - £21.50 per hour, depending on experience
