Your Role and Responsibilities
While in this position, your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Delivering civil engineering design and technical support across a range of infrastructure and construction projects.
- Supporting projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to construction and completion.
- Producing civil engineering designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Working closely with senior engineers, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
- Supporting project planning and contributing to the development of practical and efficient engineering solutions.
- Conducting site surveys, inspections, and assessments to gather relevant technical information.
- Analysing survey information, technical data, and project requirements to inform design decisions.
- Providing technical support during construction and assisting with the resolution of design and site-related issues.
- Supporting site supervision activities and monitoring works to ensure designs, specifications, quality, and project requirements are being met.
- Liaising with contractors and other project stakeholders to coordinate civil engineering activities.
- Ensuring designs and technical outputs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and project requirements.
- Identifying potential technical issues and developing appropriate solutions to maintain project progress.
- Contributing to project reporting, technical reviews, and design development as required.
- Working to agreed project programmes, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
- Supporting the successful delivery of high-quality civil engineering solutions across a variety of technically challenging projects.
- What You Will Need to
Apply:
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have proven experience working within a Civil Engineering design and project environment, ideally with experience across infrastructure, construction, or similar technically complex projects.
You will have a strong understanding of civil engineering principles and be confident contributing to design development, calculations, surveys, and technical documentation.
Experience working across the full project lifecycle, from initial design through to construction and site delivery, would be highly advantageous.
You will need to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, together with the ability to interpret technical information and develop practical engineering solutions.
Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams is important, as you will regularly communicate with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working to project deadlines.
You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Experience within a Defence, infrastructure, construction, or other regulated environment would be beneficial.
Candidates who already hold SC clearance, or who are eligible and willing to obtain the necessary clearance, would be particularly desirable.
