Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Workshop-Based Mobile Plant Fitter on behalf of our client based in Essex on a Permanent basis.
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults on a wide range of plant machinery.
- Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
- Complete Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) and PAT testing where required.
- Attend customer sites across Essex and the surrounding counties to carry out repairs and servicing.
- Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify faults and complete repairs efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance records.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
- Inspect equipment to ensure it is safe, fully operational and ready for use.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Work effectively within the workshop team and independently whilst on-site.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Work on a variety of leading plant machinery brands including JCB, Komatsu, Bomag, Thwaites, Hamm, Powerscreen, John Deere and Bell.
- Maintain and repair equipment including excavators, dumpers, crushers, screeners, wheeled loaders, generators, water pumps, hydraulic attachments, compaction equipment and lifting equipment.
- Carry out both workshop-based and mobile service work as business requirements dictate.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding experience.
- Competent using computer diagnostic equipment.
- Experience servicing and repairing heavy plant machinery.
- Full clean UK Driving Licence.
- Own tools are essential.
- Excellent attention to detail with accurate record keeping.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a workshop and site environment.
