As a Corporate Knowledge Lawyer in Guildford, you'll play a key role in supporting the legal team by providing expert insights and maintaining up-to-date knowledge resources. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth delivery of legal services within the professional services industry.

The corporate group is one of the largest and most respected teams outside London, handling high-quality domestic and cross-border matters across private M&A, private equity, venture capital, corporate reorganisations, joint ventures and general corporate advisory work. An exciting opportunity for an experienced Corporate Knowledge Lawyer, or a senior corporate fee earner looking to move into knowledge management, to support a leading corporate practice. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will drive training, knowledge development and legal innovation initiatives while helping embed AI and legal technology into the team's day-to-day delivery.

Working alongside an established senior knowledge lawyer and the head of the corporate practice, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the team's know-how, training programmes and knowledge resources. You will act as a trusted adviser to lawyers across the team, providing technical support on complex corporate matters and helping ensure the practice remains at the forefront of legal and market developments.

A key aspect of the position will involve supporting the firm's innovation agenda, including the adoption of legal technology, AI tools and modern knowledge management processes to enhance client service and lawyer productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, updating and maintaining precedents, templates and guidance materials
  • Monitoring legal and market developments and disseminating key updates
  • Delivering technical and skills training across all levels of the team
  • Supporting trainee development, onboarding and broader learning initiatives
  • Acting as a technical resource for lawyers on corporate law and market practice
  • Assisting with research, knowledge-sharing and business development initiatives
  • Managing and developing knowledge repositories and best-practice resources
  • Leading or supporting legal technology and AI implementation projects
  • Driving adoption of innovative tools and new ways of working
  • Supporting strategic initiatives within the corporate practice

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be either:

  • An established Corporate Knowledge Lawyer; or
  • A qualified corporate solicitor with around 5+ years' PQE looking to transition into a knowledge-focused role.

You should possess:

  • Strong technical corporate law expertise, particularly in M&A and general corporate matters
  • Excellent legal research and drafting skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience delivering engaging training programmes
  • A collaborative and approachable style
