Senior Practice Accountant, Guildford Area, to £80k + Hybrid working
An established and well-respected accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional with strong practice experience who enjoys managing client relationships, delivering high-quality work, and supporting junior colleagues.
In this role you'll manage a varied portfolio of clients, acting as a trusted advisor while ensuring all accounting and compliance work is completed accurately and on time.
Key responsibilities include
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
- Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as their main point of contact.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC and MTD requirements.
- Supporting corporation tax and personal tax compliance work.
- Reviewing work produced by junior team members and providing guidance where needed.
- Building strong client relationships and delivering practical accounting and business advice.
- Ensuring compliance with current accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Strong accountancy practice background with post-qualification experience.
- Experienced in preparing statutory accounts and managing client portfolios.
- Confident dealing directly with clients and providing a high level of service.
- Good knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT and tax compliance.
- Experience with software such as Xero, Quick Books, Iris, Tax Calc, Sage or similar.
- Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
This is a full-time, permanent job opportunity, offering a very competitive salary plus hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 remote if required)
