Wastewater Service Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire (Field Based)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum + Overtime + Company Vehicle + Excellent Benefits

Planet Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing engineering company specialising in wastewater, sewage treatment and pumping solutions.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Wastewater Service Engineer to join their field service team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with mechanical and/or electrical experience who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems and delivering high levels of customer service across domestic, commercial and industrial sites.

The Role

As a Wastewater Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing sewage treatment plants, pumping stations and wastewater systems.

Working across a varied customer base, you'll carry out planned maintenance, fault finding and reactive call-outs while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on sewage treatment plants, sewage pumps and wastewater systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Attend planned preventative maintenance visits and emergency breakdown call-outs.
  • Communicate effectively with the scheduling team and customers to provide progress updates.
  • Produce accurate service reports using a mobile device.
  • Recommend replacement parts and identify additional works where required.
  • Maintain company vehicle stock levels, ensuring essential tools and parts are available.
  • Provide excellent customer service while representing the business professionally.
  • Support and assist with on-the-job training when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with company procedures and health & safety regulations.

About You

The successful candidate will have

  • Previous experience servicing wastewater, sewage treatment or pumping systems, or experience within a similar engineering environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
  • 17th, 18th or 19th Edition Electrical qualification.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Confined Space certification.
