THE ROLE

They are seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to oversee complex compliance work and advisory projects in the busy tax department.

You will lead service delivery, manage key client relationships, and support the growth of future talent.

Working closely with a team of experts, you will ensure compliance processes are efficient and client requirements are met with high standards.

You will also play a vital role in fostering a positive team environment and promoting best practices across the department.

  • Lead delivery of personal tax compliance services, including self-assessment submissions and VAT issues.
  • Manage relationships with clients, providing ad hoc advice on technical and planning matters.
  • Deliver advisory assignments as part of multi-disciplinary teams, identifying additional opportunities for client value.
  • Coach and develop junior team members, sharing expertise on compliance and advisory work.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to maintaining a collaborative, supportive team culture driven by high standards.
  • THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Demonstrate expertise in personal tax compliance, advisory, or planning for 3+ years.
  • Have experience managing client relationships and leading teams or mentorship programmes.
  • Show understanding of UK tax legislation, including PAYE, self-assessment, and VAT.
  • Possess strong technical skills with tools such as Excel and tax software.
  • Be aligned with our values of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Hold a relevant professional qualification or have equivalent experience; ATT, CTA, CA, or similar is desirable but not essential.
  • Preferred
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary advisory environment.
  • A proven track record of leading process improvements or automation projects.
  • Familiarity with UK compliance standards, such as IFRS or FRS 102.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex tax matters clearly to clients and team members.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional client face-to-face meetings and team catchups.
