Part Time Practice Accountant / 3 Days a week, to £50k FTE, Fleet

This is a permanent part-time Accountant position working for an established and successful accountancy and business advisory firm.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager you will prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for a portfolio of small limited companies, while building lasting relationships with clients to obtain accurate financial information, resolve queries, and ensure compliance with UK accounting and tax legislation.

The role requires excellent technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end statutory accounts for small limited companies in accordance with FRS 102 Section 1A.
  • Review bookkeeping records and trial balances for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues before finalising accounts.
  • Prepare and submit accounts to Companies House where required.
  • Ensure all work complies with current accounting standards and internal quality procedures.
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for small limited companies.
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations and CT600 returns.
  • Experience liaising directly with clients.
  • Good understanding of UK accounting standards and corporation tax legislation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • AAT / ACA/ ACCA Part or fully qualified with relevant UK practice experience

To be considered for this role you must have hands on practical experience preparing accounts to FRS 102 1A in a practice environment and be able to work at least 3 days a week (the client is flexible on how you work your hours though).
