I am partnering with a leading UK life and pensions insurer who are looking to grow their Underwriting team! This role offers remote working and the chance to be part of a great team. With a focus on new business, you'll contribute to the successful management and growth of the portfolio. You will also have the opportunity to support new business projects, including product initiatives, process improvements and service enhancements.

Products: Life insurance, critical illness, income protection

The role:

  • Assessing new business applications and making underwriting decisions
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and intermediaries
  • Act as a strong representative on projects, including product initiatives and service improvements
  • Review and interpret medical, financial, occupational, lifestyle and other relevant evidence when assessing individual risks
  • Work closely with colleagues across underwriting and other areas of the business

Experience:

  • Underwriting professionals with strong knowledge of Life/Critical Illness and/or Income Protection (you DO NOT need to have experience across all three products) but it is essential to have experience in one
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing applications and supporting documentation
  • A good understanding of medical and/or financial risk assessment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
