Accounts Senior Job description

LHH is excited to partner with a respected firm in Exeter that is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounts Senior to join their dynamic team.

In this position, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements and providing valuable financial insights.

You'll collaborate with a team of professionals, helping to establish best practices while taking advantage of ongoing training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with entrepreneurial clients to provide guidance for their growing businesses.
  • Prepare annual accounts and tax computations for incorporated and unincorporated businesses, ensuring compliance.
  • Handle self-assessment tax returns, clarifying clients' obligations.
  • Advise on capital tax issues like inheritance and capital gains tax.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for financial reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure timely compliance.
  • Liaise with HMRC to resolve client queries.
  • Offer administrative and business setup services to support client growth.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, including training students.

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in Sage, Xero, and Quick Books Online (QBO).
  • Experienced in preparing accounts for partnerships, LLPs, and limited companies.
  • Able to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
