SALARY: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) + Benefits
LOCATION: This role will involve site-based work (travelling nationwide) with a small percentage of work carried out in our Laboratory in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, North West England (CH66)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Minimum 37.5 Hours per week - 4 Month Minimum Probation Period Required
KEY REQUIREMENTS: Candidates MUST have a full and valid UK Driving Licence (6 points or less - no active convictions)
This is an exciting opportunity for a Site Technician to join a small growing organisation delivering specialist testing and site-based engineering services. As a Site Technician you will lead and support nationwide projects involving load testing, structural testing, inspections, equipment setup and technical site activity across construction, engineering, retail and leisure environments. The Site Technician will prepare testing equipment, install temporary systems, record and analyse test data, produce documentation to a high standard and help ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, with your assigned team.
DUTIES:
- Carry out on-site load testing and structural testing across engineering, construction, retail and leisure projects
- Install, assemble and prepare testing equipment, temporary systems and monitoring devices
- Lead product testing, commissioning activities and engineering inspections on site and in laboratory environments
- Record, analyse and document factual test results, and prepare technical reports for onward submission to client in a timely manner
- Identify equipment issues and support troubleshooting and corrective actions during testing work
- Communicate with clients and site teams to support professional and efficient project delivery
- Maintain, inspect and service testing equipment to support operational readiness and compliance
- Follow company procedures, RAMS and site safety regulations at all times
- Complete accurate site records, test documentation and daily activity logs
- Work with other technicians, and subcontractors to support successful project delivery
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- GCSEs in English, Mathematics and Science
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Construction or Engineering, or equivalent
- Previous experience in load testing, site engineering, structural testing or engineering support environments
- Experience working with testing equipment, fault finding and technical problem solving
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures within construction, engineering or industrial environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently, collaboratively and lead within a team
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and no active convictions
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel nationwide, work flexible hours and stay away when required on short notice
DESIRABLE:
- Degree in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline
- CSCS Card
- Experience supporting nationwide site projects
- Knowledge of structural, mechanical or electrical engineering principles
