Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation based in Ellesmere Port who are seeking to appoint an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a secondmant.

Based in Ellesmere Port, you will work a hybrid model with four days in the office and one day from home.

This opportunity is ideal for a proactive finance professional looking for a broad and varied role, offering exposure across the full management accounting cycle whilst working closely with an experienced finance leadership team.

Job Duties

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
  • Month-end processing, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis and commentary against budget and prior year performance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the business.
  • Produce financial reports, KPI analysis and management information to support decision making.
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements and external stakeholder requests.
  • Support the maintenance of robust financial controls and governance processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the finance function.
  • Partner with budget holders and stakeholders across the organisation to provide financial insight and challenge.

  • Ideal Experience
  • Previous experience supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and data analysis.
  • Experience using finance systems such as Sage, Xero, Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
  • Proactive and positive approach with a willingness to support the wider finance team.
