Are you an experienced Client Manager looking to take the next step in your Accountancy Practice career?

We're recruiting on behalf of a progressive and growing accountancy practice looking for a Client Manager to oversee a varied portfolio of clients while delivering an exceptional level of service.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, managing their own portfolio and working closely with business owners to support their financial and business goals.

The Role

As a Client Manager, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, ensuring they receive a proactive, professional and timely service.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Preparing year-end accounts for a portfolio of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
  • Preparing corporation tax and self-assessment tax returns.
  • Reviewing annual accounts prepared by colleagues.
  • Reviewing VAT returns where required.
  • Preparing management accounts and discussing the results with clients.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for your client portfolio, providing advice and responding to queries.
  • Holding year-end planning and sign-off meetings with clients.
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Reviewing client fees and agreeing additional work where appropriate.
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
  • Completing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements for your client portfolio.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across the practice.

About You

We're looking for someone who has

  • Previous experience working as a Client Manager or Senior Accountant within an Accountancy Practice.
  • Strong experience preparing statutory accounts and tax returns.
  • Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage a portfolio of clients independently.
  • Experience using cloud accounting software, particularly Xero.
  • Experience with Xero add-ons such as Dext, Futrli or EPOS integrations would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • A proactive approach with a genuine passion for delivering excellent client service.
