The Company
We are recruiting on behalf of an established and growing manufacturing business seeking an experienced Finance Manager (Accountant/Book Keeper) to take ownership of its day-to-day finance and accounting activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified or qualified by experience (QBE) finance professional looking for a flexible, part-time role where they can make a genuine impact. The business is open to discussing flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations and providing accurate, timely financial information to support business decision-making. Key responsibilities will include:
- Production of monthly management accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Cash flow management and reporting
- Oversight of purchase and sales ledgers
- Payroll administration
- VAT returns and statutory compliance
- Supporting year-end accounts and liaising with external accountants
- Providing commercial and financial insight to support business growth
- Reviewing and improving finance processes and controls
The Person
We are interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate previous experience bookkeeping with strong management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management. You'll also have a good understanding of VAT and payroll with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. This role will see you take ownership of the finance function so a collaborative approach with excellent communication skills is essential. AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent practical experience will be considered. Knowledge of working with Xero accounting software would be an advantage.
