Webber Hughes are exclusively recruiting for an experienced Automatic & Industrial Door Engineer to join a growing national business specialising in automatic and manual doors, gates, barriers, and shutters.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled field-based engineer looking to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of their industry.

The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years' industry experience and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.

The Role

This is a varied and fast-paced role covering Durham and the North East, involving a combination of:

  • Installation of automatic & industrial door systems
  • Planned preventative maintenance
  • Reactive repairs and emergency call-outs

Work schedules for installations and maintenance are typically issued weekly, with emergency call-outs allocated as required on a daily basis.

  • Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 4:00pm
  • Overtime expected: 10+ hours per week
  • The Person

The ideal candidate will be technically capable, reliable, and motivated, with the ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a close-knit engineering team.

We are looking for someone who

  • Has at least 2 years' field-based experience within the automatic door industry
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Demonstrates a proactive "can-do" approach
  • Is keen to stay up to date with the latest industry technologies
  • Can deliver excellent customer service and represent the business professionally
