The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of electrical technicians, apprentices and contractors, ensuring all maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include
- Leading and supervising electrical maintenance personnel and contractors.
- Promoting a strong health, safety, and compliance culture across site.
- Planning and coordinating preventative, reactive, and shutdown maintenance activities.
- Managing maintenance schedules and ensuring work orders are completed effectively through the site's CMMS.
- Conducting regular site inspections and ensuring accurate maintenance documentation.
- Supporting employee development through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Monitoring contractor activities to ensure compliance with site standards and procedures.
- Analysing downtime data and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Attending operational meetings and communicating maintenance performance updates.
- Providing hands-on technical support and fault-finding expertise when required.
- Ensuring risk assessments and safe systems of work are current and adhered to at all times.
Skills & Experience
Applicants should possess
- HNC/HND qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing, process, FMCG, utilities, paper, chemical, or similar industrial environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience planning and managing maintenance activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation.
- High Voltage switching experience up to 11k V.
- Experience with variable speed drives (VSDs).
- Competency using Auto CAD or similar engineering software.
- A passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
