A well-established international manufacturing business is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant, with strong manufacturing experience, to join its finance team in a highly visible role offering genuine progression opportunities.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key part in delivering robust financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving operational performance across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to broaden their responsibilities and develop towards a future Finance Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, providing meaningful analysis and insight
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities across multiple business functions
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve performance
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity through regular reconciliations and strong financial controls
  • Partner with operational teams to enhance costing, stock management and margin performance
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting processes, including audit requirements and statutory compliance
  • Produce KPI reporting to aid business decision-making and operational effectiveness
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen reporting accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist in the development and mentoring of a small finance team

About You

You will be a proactive and commercially aware finance professional who enjoys operating within a manufacturing environment and building strong relationships across a business.

You will ideally have:

  • CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification (or Finalist or qualified by experience)
  • Previous management accounting experience within manufacturing, engineering or a similar operational environment
  • Strong experience of management reporting, forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Excellent Excel and systems skills, with a data-driven approach to problem solving
  • Experience supporting operational stakeholders with costing, stock and profitability analysis
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence where appropriate
  • Ambition to develop your career towards a Finance Manager position
