Pratap Partnership are working with an established and successful business that is looking to appoint a qualified accountant on an interim basis for approximately three months. The assignment has arisen to provide additional resource within the finance team through a particularly busy year-end period. This would suit a qualified accountant who is comfortable working within a technical financial accounting environment and can quickly get up to speed within an established finance function.
The role is expected to include:
- Supporting the year-end close and external reporting process
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts
- Assisting with group consolidations and associated reporting
- Accounting for leases under IFRS 16
- Preparing year-end schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation
- Supporting the external audit process and responding to auditor queries
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving outstanding items
- Assisting with technical accounting queries where required
- Working closely with the wider finance team to ensure year-end deadlines are achieved
- Providing additional financial accounting support across the team during a busy period
The successful candidate:
- Will be a qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Could be recently qualified or have several years' post-qualified experience
- Will ideally have experience of statutory accounts and financial reporting
- Should be comfortable with consolidations
- Exposure to IFRS 16 would be particularly useful
- Will be able to work independently and quickly understand an established reporting environment
- Previous year-end or audit support experience would be beneficial
