Client Overview: Specialist engineering company based in Derby, delivering large-scale mechanical overhaul and modification projects. Due to continued project demand, they are looking to recruit experienced Mechanical Fitters for a long-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out the overhaul, refurbishment and mechanical assembly of heavy engineering equipment.
- Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding mechanical components to engineering specifications.
- Replacing worn or damaged components and carrying out mechanical modifications where required.
- Using engineering drawings, work instructions and technical documentation to complete work accurately.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining safe working practices.
Person Profile
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within a heavy engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Confident using a wide range of hand and power tools.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Experience carrying out mechanical overhauls, repairs and rebuilds.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Important Information
- This role is based in Derby - no digs or expenses allowance is available.
- Contractors will be engaged Outside IR35 through their own Ltd Company.
- Applicants must have their own PPE (Safety Boots, Hi-Vis, Gloves, Safety Glasses, etc.).
- Applicants must have an active Ltd Company with a separate business bank account.
Qualifications
- Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent Mechanical Engineering qualification (preferred).
