Reed Finance Norwich are seeking a Financial Accountant to lead our clients finance service, including accountancy and exchequer services.
This pivotal role involves managing the annual budget, Tax, and overseeing the year-end processes and external audits.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience preparing financial statements and a strong background in managing financial legislative compliance.
Day-to-day of the role
- Lead the delivery of the organisations finance services, ensuring compliance with all legislative and accounting codes of practice.
- Manage the setting of the annual budget and Tax.
- Project manage the year-end processes and the closing of annual accounts.
- Coordinate the production and ensure the completeness and quality of external audit papers.
- Act as the primary contact for the organisation regarding the audit function.
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels to support and promote sound financial processes.
- Provide technical support on account issues and impacts to officers, members, and external stakeholders.
- Manage the organisations insurance policy and ensure adequate coverage and efficient claim processing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified CCAB Accountant.
- Extensive knowledge of Local Government Finance and Accounting.
- Strong understanding of the relevant financial legislation and guidance in respect of Local Government Finance.
- Proficient in the use of IT systems including spreadsheets and financial information systems.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of producing accurate and complex reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting pressures to deliver service and corporate objectives.
- Experience in leading and implementing service delivery change.
