An established and well-respected law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Conveyancing Solicitor to lead its busy Conveyancing Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior residential property lawyer looking to combine fee-earning responsibilities with departmental leadership and strategic development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise and support a team of conveyancing fee earners and support staff
- Manage departmental workloads and resources to ensure matters progress efficiently
- Monitor team performance and support staff development through training and appraisals
- Handle a personal caseload of residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion
- Provide technical guidance on complex or high-value matters
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and quality standards, including SRA, CQS, AML, GDPR and lender panel requirements
- Conduct file reviews and support risk management and audit processes
- Develop and maintain relationships with referrers, professional contacts and clients
- Contribute to business planning, departmental growth and marketing initiatives
- Monitor financial performance, billing, work in progress and departmental profitability
About You
- Qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer or Legal Executive with significant residential conveyancing experience
- Previous experience supervising or managing a conveyancing team
- Strong technical knowledge of residential property law and conveyancing practice
- Excellent leadership, communication and client care skills
- Commercially aware with the ability to drive performance and profitability
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
