Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Carpenter for our Corby based client on a temporary to permanent contract. Our client works alongside the most prestigious beauty, cosmetic and jewellery houses to design, manufacture and install point of purchase displays in department stores and airports throughout the UK. We are currently looking for highly skilled carpenters in POS/POP display to join our team. They are looking to take on an experienced Carpenter ideally with knowledge of the retail display sector.
Job purpose: To work within a professional, high-quality workshop building MDF and laminated units used in promotional displays.
Key responsibilities:
- Build MDF POS unitary
- Must be able to laminate
- Must be able to read technical drawings
- Will be required to have your own kit
- To work to strict production deadlines
- To produce unitary with workshop machinery and hand tools to technical plans provided
- To keep working area clear and tidy and free from hazards
- To help mentor/supervise carpentry apprentices and assist in widening their knowledge and skills
- To work within health and safety guidelines
- To support production manager and other carpenters where necessary
- To assist with on-site installation tasks where required
- To complete all other reasonable tasks as necessary
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Attention to detail
- Good timekeeping
- Be able to work on own initiative
- To have a flexible approach to bench work
- Extensive carpentry experience
- Would be expected to have own hand tools
- Positive attitude
Benefits:
- Overtime is payable at enhanced rates
- 20 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
