Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well-established and successful Manufacturing business in Chesterfield as they look for a Financial Accountant for the team.

This is a newly created role due to continued business growth and the evolving responsibilities of the Financial Controller, who is taking on additional duties across the organisation.

The successful candidate will join a friendly and established finance team of four and will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial accounting and reporting requirements of the business.

It will be a varied role with responsibilities will include

  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting month-end processes
  • Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the integrity of financial records
  • Preparation and posting of journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting the production of statutory accounts and year-end reporting
  • Assisting with the preparation of information for external auditors
  • Supporting cash flow forecasting and wider financial planning
  • Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls
  • Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc analysis, reporting and projects
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting where required
  • Providing financial information and support to colleagues and stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting the continued development and growth of the finance function

They are looking for someone with strong financial accounting experience who enjoys working in a hands-on and collaborative finance environment. You will ideally be:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or a strong finalist with relevant experience
  • Experienced in financial accounting, month-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Comfortable working independently while also being part of a small, collaborative team
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel and financial systems
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business
  • Proactive, with an interest in improving processes and taking on new responsibilities
