What You'll Be Doing
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, providing trusted financial advice and constructive challenge
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance management activities
- Deliver insightful financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decisions
- Support business cases, funding bids and financial modelling for key projects and programmes
- Identify risks, opportunities and areas for continuous improvement
- Promote strong financial governance and value for money across the organisation
- Support major capital projects and investment programmes
- Work collaboratively across the Finance Directorate to deliver an excellent finance service
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a qualified finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills. You will have:
- Full CCAB qualification (or equivalent) and a commitment to continuing professional development
- Significant experience providing financial advice within a large and complex organisation
- Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management
- Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience driving process improvements and enhancing financial performance
- A proactive, solution-focused approach and the confidence to take ownership
- Experience supporting large-scale programmes, projects or capital investment activity
- Experience within Local Government, a Combined Authority, or a similarly complex public sector environment would be advantageous.
