Hybrid Working | 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home | Clear Career Progression

A leading and growing accountancy practice is looking to recruit an ACA or ACCA qualified Audit Senior to join its expanding Audit team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior looking for greater responsibility, increased client exposure and a clear pathway towards Assistant Manager and Manager level.

The Role

As Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for leading audit assignments across a varied portfolio of clients, working closely with Managers and Partners while supervising junior members of the team.

You will be involved throughout the audit process, from initial planning and fieldwork through to completion and review.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Arranging and leading audit planning meetings
  • Managing day-to-day audit fieldwork and workflow
  • Preparing and delegating key areas of audit work
  • Supervising Audit Semi Seniors and Assistants
  • Reviewing junior team members' work
  • Preparing audit completion sections, including Going Concern and Key Audit Findings Reports
  • Identifying and researching technical or higher-risk audit matters
  • Escalating complex issues to Managers and senior colleagues where appropriate
  • Clearing Manager and RI review points
  • Monitoring progress against agreed budgets and deadlines
  • Maintaining high standards of audit quality and compliance
  • Supporting billing and assignment administration
  • Working closely with Managers, Partners and other specialist teams
  • Client Exposure

You will have direct responsibility for building relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact throughout audit assignments.

This will include

  • Managing day-to-day communication with clients
  • Building strong relationships with key client contacts
  • Maintaining proactive communication outside the immediate audit cycle
  • Attending audit review and completion meetings
  • Coordinating stocktakes where required
  • Ensuring AML, KYC and engagement documentation is maintained
  • Responding to client queries and keeping stakeholders updated throughout assignments

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with external audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.

You will ideally have

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Strong external audit experience
  • Experience leading audit assignments
  • Exposure to the full audit process from planning through to completion
  • Experience supervising or supporting junior staff
  • Good technical audit and accounting knowledge
  • Strong client communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Ambition to progress towards Assistant Manager and beyond
  • Career Progression
