Overview
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Sales Advisor (Automotive & Parts) on behalf of our client.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a mechanical or vehicle maintenance background who has a good understanding of automotive parts and is looking to move into a sales and customer-focused role.

Our client is particularly interested in candidates who have experience working on cars, vans, commercial vehicles or similar, with a good knowledge of parts and vehicle applications.

This could be a great next step for a mechanic or engineer who wants to move away from the tools while still using their technical knowledge.

The role would also suit ex-military personnel and service leavers, particularly those from mechanical or technical trades, bringing their discipline, reliability and structured approach into a civilian environment.

You'll join a supportive team with full training provided and a clear internal progression pathway, with opportunities to develop into more senior sales and leadership positions over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of customer service to trade and account customers.
  • Handle customer enquiries and identify the correct parts for their requirements.
  • Use electronic parts catalogues and vehicle applications to identify products.
  • Prepare quotations, process sales orders and deal with pricing enquiries.
  • Manage back orders, returns, warranty claims and customer queries.
  • Support trade counter and face-to-face customer interactions.
  • Liaise with warehouse, transport, procurement and depot teams.
  • Coordinate deliveries and provide updates to customers where required.
  • Maintain accurate customer and sales records.
  • Follow up on enquiries and identify opportunities to convert sales.
  • Maintain good knowledge of products, suppliers and vehicle applications.
  • Support general depot and administrative duties as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in mechanical or vehicle maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of automotive parts and vehicle applications.
  • An interest in developing a career in sales and customer service.
  • Experience working on cars, vans, HGVs or other vehicles is desirable.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
