We are seeking an experienced and driven Finance Manager to support UK manufacturing operations within a dynamic and rapidly growing medical device manufacturing environment.
This is a highly visible position that combines financial and cost accounting, operational finance, business partnering, and process improvement responsibilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, and senior leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, insightful business analysis, and the delivery of initiatives that drive profitability, efficiency, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver an accurate and timely month-end close process, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, reserves, and account analysis.
- Prepare monthly management reports, providing clear financial insights, commentary, and recommendations.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity through regular reconciliations and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, accounting standards, internal policies, and financial controls.
- Support year-end statutory audits and coordinate audit requirements and reporting schedules.
- Assist R&D and project teams with project accounting, revenue recognition, and cost tracking.
- Take ownership of inventory accounting, reconciliations, stock count processes, and variance analysis.
- Analyse standard versus actual manufacturing costs and identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
- Support product costing activities, including bills of materials and production routing reviews.
- Provide analysis of manufacturing KPIs and operational performance metrics.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to evaluate the financial impact of process and product changes.
- Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, capitalisation, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
- Support capital expenditure planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and support functions.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Monitor profitability, cost performance, and key operational metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Drive finance and operational process improvement initiatives.
- Support automation, system enhancements, and reporting improvements.
- Assist in developing and strengthening internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Apply structured problem-solving techniques to improve efficiency, accuracy, and business outcomes.
Experience & Skills
- At least 5 years' experience within a finance or accounting role.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting, and fixed assets.
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and build relationships across multiple business functions.
