An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing UK business on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in leading the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting business performance, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.
This role would suit an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant, or Financial Accountant looking to make a tangible impact within a dynamic business environment.
The Role
Leading a team of finance professionals across Management Accounts, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function and the delivery of high-quality financial information to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
- Deliver financial analysis and reporting to support business performance
- Lead, coach and develop a finance team
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital performance
- Ensure compliance with VAT and statutory reporting requirements
- Support budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes
- Lead the annual audit process and assist with statutory accounts preparation
- Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, controls and efficiencies
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide financial insight and support
- Ensure robust financial controls and governance are maintained
About You
Essential Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Senior Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience managing audits and statutory reporting requirements
- Proven experience leading and developing finance teams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience
- Experience within a multi-site business
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, industrial services, distribution or a similar sector
- Experience with ERP systems and finance process improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of working capital management and cash flow forecasting
- Experience with integrated finance systems
