An established chartered accountancy firm is seeking a Service Charge Accounts Trainee to join their specialist service charge team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop their accountancy career within a niche area of practice, with full support towards an AAT apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will specialise in service charge accounting, gaining hands-on experience preparing financial information for residential and commercial property developments while working within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

  • Role Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the preparation of service charge accounts for residential and commercial property developments.
  • Processing income, expenditure and financial transactions accurately.
  • Completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate accounting records.
  • Reviewing invoices, expenses and supporting documentation.
  • Assisting with the preparation of service charge statements and financial reports.
  • Ensuring costs are correctly allocated to the relevant developments.
  • Supporting the team with the day-to-day administration of service charge accounts.
  • Liaising with property managers and other stakeholders when required.
  • Developing an understanding of service charge accounting processes and industry requirements.
  • Working towards an AAT qualification alongside gaining practical workplace experience.
  • Personal Requirements
  • Ideally some previous experience within accounts, bookkeeping, finance administration or a related role.
  • Any exposure to service charge accounts, property accounting or client accounting would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within accountancy and working towards an AAT qualification.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to work.
  • Good numerical skills and confidence working with financial information.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist area of accountancy.
