Mechanical Technician

Start Date: Immediate Start
Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Type of Contract: Permanent
Location: Bar Hill
Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shift (early finish on a Friday – 12:30pm)

Due to continued growth, our client, a market leading manufacturer based in Bar Hill are currently looking for Mechanical Technicians to join their team.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Comprehensively read, understand, and work from technical and engineering drawings
  • Assemble and weld small bore tubing and associated mechanical components to precise specifications (within 0.5mm)
  • Perform mechanical assembly and pipe preparation tasks while adhering to cleanroom protocols
  • Conduct vacuum, stress, and pressure testing to ensure product integrity and quality. (Training will be provided for these tasks)
  • Be prepared to undertake assembly and testing tasks at client or customer sites as required
  • Regularly liaise with the Production Manager or Supervisor to provide updates on the status of goods, highlight any challenges, and suggest improvements
  • Maintain a safe and tidy work area, adhering to all health and safety procedures

Person Specification

In to be successful in the role of Mechanical Technician, you must

  • Be able to read technical drawings
  • Have previous experience with measuring tools, vernier callipers, pipe cutters and benders
  • Possess excellent attention to detail and capable of working to precise tolerances
  • Ideally have a strong mechanical aptitude, a mechanical qualification/background would be advantageous (Graduates considered)
  • Have good communication and the ability to work successfully as part of a team

  • Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45
