A leading engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their technical skills across a range of exciting geotechnical projects, working alongside experienced engineers and specialists.
The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of ground investigation, geotechnical design and reporting projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors. You will gain hands-on experience both in the office and on site, developing your understanding of ground conditions, soil behaviour and engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of ground investigations
- Logging soils and rocks in accordance with industry standards
- Preparing factual and interpretative ground investigation reports
- Supporting geotechnical assessments and calculations
- Carrying out site visits and monitoring works
- Assisting senior engineers with geotechnical design solutions
- Interpreting site investigation data and laboratory test results
- Working with multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects
Requirements:
- BSc or MSc degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or a related subject
- A strong academic background with an interest in geotechnical engineering
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A willingness to work both in the office and on site
- Full UK driving licence (or working towards one) would be advantageous
