A respected and long-established independent accountancy practice in Greater Manchester is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join its growing team.
Description
As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact for their accounting and business advisory needs.
Key responsibilities will include
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
- Preparing management accounts and financial reports.
- Reviewing bookkeeping records and resolving accounting queries.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
- Assisting with corporation tax computations and related compliance work.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Attending client meetings and providing proactive support and advice.
- Supporting junior team members through coaching and mentoring.
- Liaising with HMRC and other third parties where required.
- Ensuring assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Profile
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or be part-qualified/qualified by experience).
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts for a portfolio of business clients.
- Proven client-facing experience and confidence in managing client relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and commercial approach to problem-solving.
- Good knowledge of accounting software and cloud-based systems.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
