- Drainage Investigation Engineer

We're seeking an experienced Drainage Investigation Engineer to carry out on-site drainage investigations across the UK, diagnose issues and recommend effective repair solutions.
This role suits someone with strong problem-solving ability, confidence working independently and excellent customer-facing skills.
The Role
You'll be responsible for investigating drainage systems, clearing below-ground blockages using high-pressure water jetting and producing detailed CCTV reports.
You'll also liaise directly with customers, explaining findings clearly and ensuring they receive a professional, positive service experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete drainage investigations and produce detailed CCTV reports to WRC defect grading standards.
- Use high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear below-ground blockages.
- Operate CAT/GENIE and sonar tracing equipment to locate and map drainage systems.
- Carry out repairs including patching and lining water mains.
- Conduct excavations and reinstatement of domestic surfaces (paving slabs, block paving, etc.).
- Deliver outstanding customer care and confidently explain recommended repairs.
- Apply strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience in drainage investigations and high-pressure water jetting.
- Strong understanding of CCTV surveying equipment and reporting standards.
- Ability to identify buried services using tracing equipment.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.
