Data Protection Manager role with a leading UK business (where personal data is key) based in Bristol HQ (Hybrid 2 days per week), commutable from a host of areas including Worcs, Cheltenham, Glos, Bath, Cardiff, Swindon etc.

Salary: c.£60,000

Working with a well-known brand in a fast-paced sector, we are looking to hire a Data Protection Manager to join the in-house legal, risk and compliance function. As one of 4 in the DP sub-division (with a wider team of 10+), you will provide specialist advice across the wider Group and monitor ongoing compliance and regulatory changes, acting as a true business partner on key projects and initiatives.

The Data Protection Manager role will include:

  • Governance and Compliance
  • Data Breaches and Incident Management
  • Data Subject Rights and Complaints
  • Risk Management
  • Ongoing training and process improvement plans
  • External ICO and Regulatory engagement

We are keen to hear from those with proven experience in a data protection, privacy or compliance role, gained in the private sector. You will have strong working knowledge of UK regulation, key concepts, handling breaches, managing SARs, conducting reviews and rolling out training.

With relevant qualifications, you will ideally be used to working closely with in-house legal and risk teams, enjoy building relationships and be comfortable working in a fast-paced business where the ability to prioritise will be key.

Given the current structure, importance of DP and the profile of the role, there is a genuine path for rapid progression across more senior and/or DPO roles. If you have a little more experience and/or are looking for a more senior DP manager role, we would also be interested in hearing from you.
