About the Company:
An established global insurance group with employee ownership at the heart of its business. Operating internationally through a collaborative network of insurance specialists, the company has built a strong reputation for combining global capability with entrepreneurial thinking and personal client service. Its continued growth is supported by a people-first culture where employees are trusted to contribute ideas, develop their careers and make a meaningful difference to clients. You will join a close-knit Bristol team that values collaboration, personality and shared success.
Role Summary:
This is an opportunity for an experienced commercial insurance professional to join a growing team and manage a renewal-led portfolio of predominantly small and mid-sized commercial cases. The position is focused on renewals, client service and mid-term policy changes rather than cold outreach or new business development. You will work closely with clients, insurers and internal colleagues to maintain suitable cover, competitive pricing and high standards of documentation. The team can shape the role around the successful person's capabilities. Longer-term progression could include larger corporate cases, client-facing account executive work, claims, marketing or another insurance specialism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Renewals: Take ownership of a regular renewal portfolio, allowing you to build lasting client relationships and maintain appropriate insurance protection.
- Review Client Information: Check documentation and risk details for accuracy, helping ensure insurers receive clear and complete information.
- Prepare Market Presentations: Collate client requirements and produce professional insurer submissions, developing your broking and placement expertise.
- Support Clients: Respond to queries, process mid-term changes and resolve issues, becoming a trusted point of contact throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Coordinate with Insurers: Communicate risk information, respond to market queries and obtain suitable terms for clients.
- Maintain Compliant Records: Produce accurate documentation and maintain a clear audit trail across internal systems.
- Identify Additional Needs: Recognise appropriate cross-sell and upsell opportunities while keeping the client's requirements at the centre of each recommendation.
Requirements:
- Established experience within commercial insurance broking, account handling or client servicing.
- Previous responsibility for renewals and mid-term policy changes.
- Sound understanding of commercial insurance documentation and compliance requirements.
- Strong numerical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organise a varied workload and meet renewal deadlines.
- Collaborative and approachable personality with a client-focused mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to seek guidance on complex technical matters.
- Ability to remain calm and accurate when working to tight deadlines.
